Our sunscreen protects with an Spf of 30 using only Non-Nano zinc oxide.
Zinc oxide is what makes this product sunscreen. Zinc oxide is a natural mineral that sits on top of the skin, acting as a physical sunblock, blocking UV rays. Why is using non-nano as opposed nano zinc so important? Non-nano particles are too large to penetrate the skin. Nano particles are much smaller and they penetrate the skin, which can cause damage to organs in the body. There are many sunscreens out there that have nano zinc.
Zinc oxide is beneficial for even sensitive skin.
It soothes redness and balances oil production, which is helpful for acne-prone skin.
We also do not use titanium dioxide as many natural brands do.
The International Agency for Research on Carcinogens has classified titanium dioxide as a possible carcinogen when it is inhaled in large doses. Titanium is a heavy metal that penetrates the blood stream. Heavy metals in the body can cause disease.
