Not all Shea butter is the same. We sell only certified organic, raw, unrefined Shea butter, with nothing added. Our butter is also fresh. After about 18 months from the date of extraction, She butter loses some of its potency.  The refining process removes the odor and color, as well as destroys many of the bioactive ingredients, taking away much of the medicinal properties.
